Segun Fiki

Segun is an integral part of the Firm’s Civil & Criminal Litigation and general Advisory Practice areas. He has also advised the Firm’s clients on complex areas of commercial and transactional law, and has been an active participant in election petition proceedings. His key areas of practice include Dispute Resolution, Regulatory/Compliance Advisory, Petroleum/Oil & Gas Law, Contracts Negotiations/Drafting and International Trade Law, amongst others.

He is an avid advocate and frequently appears before all the High Courts and Appellate Courts across Nigeria in complex litigations.

He also possesses cognate experience in both domestic and international arbitration, and has previously acted to protect diverse clients cutting across the public and private sectors in international arbitration proceedings conducted under the auspices of the London Court of Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

EDUCATION

Segun Fiki is a 2010 graduate of the Public International Law Department of the University of Abuja and the Nigerian Law School, where he obtained his Law Practice License between 2010 and 2011. He also holds an LLM (with Distinction) in International Commercial Law from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, United Kingdom and an Executive Certificate in Investment Arbitration from Georgetown University in partnership with the International Law Institute (ILI).

Segun received a Certificate of Commendation in 2018 from the Global Indicators Group (Development Economics) of the World Bank Group for successfully contributing to the Doing Business Global Report.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK Branch), the Nigerian Bar Association and the Society for the Protection of Wrongly Convicted Persons.

Segun’s hobbies include reading, hiking and playing football.
